2002 Riesling vom Stein Smaragd

Aromas of woodsmoke, resin, lemon oil and red berry confiture. Juicy white peach, raspberry and lime flavors on the palate, with adamantly stony, sizzlingly pungent and salty mineral expression, but more covered in fruit and ameliorated by glossiness of texture than is the Federspiel from the same site. Long and penetrating. Quite a box of treasures here, as yet really only letting you peak inside. 2 stars.
