Tasting notes
Deep ruby with good sweet fruit offered in a plush, open-knit style, this wine has plenty of superficial appeal but not a great deal of depth. Drink it over the next 5-10 years.

All the less than satisfactory Merlot went into this second wine in 2003 so that it is just Merlot – and somehow manages to be very charming – if not for the long term. Very soft, juicy and refreshing for early drinking. That canny buyer Christian Moueix of JP Moueix is the principal buyer of this wine. (JR)
Big and spicy red with loads of wild berries. Full-bodied, with excellent structure. What a second wine! James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2004
