Tasting Notes

Tasting notes
Vinfolio, Apr 2024

San Vito is pure Merlot from a single parcel, and a real highlight of the M.L. Fioretti range. The 2019 was aged 60% in new oak and 40% in amphora. As with the 2021, the lush and bright fruit shines through – darker than the 2021 with dark cherry, black plum and bramble richness. The nose is lifted with a smoky, spicy edge and alluring high-toned character. Soft and silken with a long mouth-watering finish, this is lovely.

Matthew Fioretti Profile 3-2
M.L. Fioretti

Matthew Fioretti is the winemaker who took over the Cerbaiona estate in 2015. M.L. Fioretti is his “other” label, a small range of limited-production bottlings of indigenous grapes and Bordeaux varietals, made with the same supreme attention to detail as his cult Brunello di Montalcino.
