Tasting notes
The 2015 Barolo Riserva Monvigliero is wonderfully deep and resonant, yet very much in the house style that favors classic, mid-weight structure. Succulent red cherry, cedar, tobacco and dried herbs open nicely with time in the glass as the 2015 shows off its soft curves and open-knit personality. In a word: terrific.

Verduno. Lustrous ruby. Perfumed ripe nose and with great depth of fruit. Tightly knit red-cherry, raspberry and cranberry fruit palate. Plenty of supple acidity and still very embryonic. Crunchy red fruit with a big layer of chewy tannins on the finish. Finely balanced, but far from ready. (WS)
The 2015 Barolo Riserva Monvigliero emerges from the highest portion of the vineyard. Bright, lifted and full of energy, the 2015 has much to offer, once it unwinds a bit in bottle. This is an especially tense Barolo for the vintage, with real sense of crystalline purity that gives the wine so much of its distinctive personality. Red-toned fruit and floral notes add character to this super-expressive, mid-weight Barolo from Castello di Verduno.
