NV TBRC:Diamond Distillery (Guyana), Batch 3, 14yo (55.5%)

A powerful nose opens with cut sugarcane and green banana minerality, which soon gives way to a more indulgent caramel. The energetic complexity continues on the palate, with round, slightly funky tropical fruit – led by ripe pineapple – lifted by a refreshing lemongrass, and the mouthfilling texture pleasingly punctuated with zips of black pepper. The finish evolves to be a little sweeter, with cinnamon and aromatic citrus developing in waves. A fresher rum, and all the more intriguing for it.
