Two plots, from Combe in the most southerly part of Cornas, at the foot of the slope, and Chaban at 350 m on a poor, rocky site. Slate, grilled meat and spice, with ripe blueberry. Rich and intense, black-olive-laced palate, that’s structured exactly as would be expected from Cornas, though with fine-grained tannins. Full body, spicy and long. (TJ)
