Made from the best blocks of Chardonnay fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in oak for seven months. Much more complex nose than the Blanc de Blancs 2013. Very vivacious and lively with excellent race and depth. Also length. A little hint of greenness. Vibrant finish. Very good effort. (JR)

From a small block in this 95-acre (38-ha) south-facing vineyard with yields restricted to one bunch per shoot. Half-full crates only. During the press cycle they keep the 150-litre per tonne ‘heart’ for this wine. Disgorgement in 2017 for immediate release. No clarification, 100% into old oak. The 2014 will be released later in 2019. The 2014 is richer and better, winemaker Josh says. ‘Getting malo on pH 2.9 is hard work but it’s our weapon.’ Good zesty finish with definite autolysis on the nose. There is fine zest and line on this wine. Lemon cream and good lime finish. Light bead and nice filigree. Excellent acidity. (JR)

From a chalk vineyard acquired in 2007, this is a selection of the best blocks of Chardonnay and made from the heart of the first pressing, the finest quality portion of juice. Just 1,600 bottles filled. Base wines made with indigenous yeast and aged on lees in oak for seven months. Some autolysis on the nose and very fine bead. Super clean with a sort of fresh, gree- hedgerow aroma. Pretty substantial and very well balanced on the palate. Real drive and persistence, even if I don't think I'd pay £100 for it. Certainly a worthy and ambitious addition to the growing pantheon of fine English fizz. Very 'cool'. (JR)
