Tasting notes
Roagna's 2009 Barbaresco Montefico Vecchie Viti is bright, saline and crushed rocks. Lively veins of acidity and minerality provide the backbone in a Barbaresco that brings together the clean, pulsating notes so typical of this site with the higher level of maturity of the year. Hints of leather, smoke and tobacco wrap around the intense, structured finish.

Spicy, savoury and a little wild on the nose with notes of leather and cherry. Waves of powdery tannins on the palate. Wonderful supple fruit with a muscular tannic core. (WS)
About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
