Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous
"Toppedt" means "shrivelled," which describes the berries for this late-harvest wine. The label may read "late harvested" or "kesói szüreteleso ." Pear nectar, honey, quince, toasted almond and characteristically smoky furmint notes in the aroma. Creamy and glyceral yet bright and refreshing. Glides effortlessly across the palate and almost endlessly down the throat. Yes, too good to spit. This finish sounds in all registers: florals, fruits, and low-toned nuttiness. One scarcely notices the sweetness. The wine will get at most a couple of months in barrel and be bottled early.
