Score 17.5/20 · Drink 1975-2000, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2009
Very pale ruby. Old nose that gives the impression of a wine clinging on to its fruit with long fingernails. Now this wine is light but it tastes as though at one stage it had great intensity of ripe fruit. The fine tannins are just starting to overwhelm the faded but very fine and appetising fruit. A wonderful testament to what 50-year-old bordeaux can do – just starting to go into a little bit of a funk. (JR)
