Healthy mature ruby with bright, bricky rim. Subdued hints of mushroom, wet earth and undergrowth on the nose. Fine and complex gentle cherry palate and still fresh. Lovely fruit beautifully balanced by velvety but persistent tannins. Sweetness of age on a long finish. At its peak. (WS)
