Ch. Branaire-Ducru

This Fourth Growth estate, just a stone’s throw from the wide expanse of the Gironde estuary, has been revitalised under the stewardship of former banker and businessman Patrick Maroteaux, who purchased the property in 1988.

Despite the huge leap in quality and improved consistency, Saint-Julien lovers are still able to enjoy its Branaire-Ducru without having to pay through the nose for it. Maroteaux’s son, François-Xavier, now steers the ship of Branaire-Ducru following the death of his father in late 2017 and he is charged with ensuring it lives up to the high standards that placed it in the 1855 classification.
