Ch. Haut-Bailly

Quality at this château, now one of Pessac-Léognan’s leading wine estates, has risen exponentially under the reign of Véronique Sanders, with the property known for crafting wines of elegance and poise.

The history here is long, with records of viticulture at this address dating back to at least the 15th century. It was widely respected in the 18th and 19th centuries, but fell into disrepair in the first half of the 20th century, changing hands many times. Despite this, it was classified as one of the Graves Crus Classés in 1953. Belgian wine merchant Daniel Sanders purchased the property in 1955, marking the start of a new era, with significant investment in the vineyards. Together with his son Jean, they restored the estate’s reputation.
