The debut offering in the partnership between Vinous and Asprey Studio is a wine of transcendent beauty, extraordinary rarity and pure pedigree. The 2021 Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon IGT Toscana was selected and blended by renowned wine critic Antonio Galloni from vineyards at Ornellaia, the iconic Tuscan estate. This exclusive edition from one of the best vintages of the century marks the first-ever Cabernet Sauvignon bottled by Ornellaia. Only two barrels were bottled.

Owners of this initial offering will receive:

– The 2021 Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon, blended by Antonio Galloni from vineyards at Ornellaia. Several formats are available

– Exclusive invitation to attend new release events and wine tastings with Antonio Galloni in London and/or New York City to preview new wines in the Asprey x Vinous collaboration

– Priority access to purchase the next wine in the series.

Reflecting on the origins of the concept, Galloni reveals, “I am delighted to be one of the Asprey Studio artists, a select group of creative leaders in their respective fields. I  was inspired to curate a collection of wines that are not only exceptional but also exceptionally rare: each comprises a tiny selection of barrels from the world's most prestigious estates. Partnering with Asprey Studio on this initiative is a seamless alignment through our shared commitment to excellence, creativity and the relentless pursuit to develop unique experiences.” In September 2022, Galloni tasted the components of this wine and was deeply impressed. Through meticulous selection, the Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon wine was born.

In wine circles, collectors refer to "unicorns." These are highly coveted bottles that wine lovers seldom see and even less often have a chance to taste. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s Romanée-Conti from Burgundy is an example. Its tiny annual production of around 4,000 bottles (13 barrels) is limited by the boundaries of the famous vineyard, with exact quantities varying each year due to weather conditions. Château Lafite Rothschild’s famed First Growth Bordeaux produces around 20,000 cases (800 barrels) a year.

With its production of just two barrels, the equivalent of just 600 bottles, the 2021 Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon blended by Antonio Galloni from vineyards at Ornellaia is a wine very few people will ever have a chance to taste, let alone own.
