Ryan Zepaltas arrived in California from Eau Claire, Wisconsin with $400 and a skateboard so he could indulge his skate passion year-round. A career detour took him to Siduri where he learned to make Pinot Noir and Syrah under Dianna and Adam Lee. In 2004 he released the first wine under his own label 40 cases of Syrah sourced from Rosella's Vineyard. His 2005 Pinot Noir La Cruz Vineyard a site owned by Keller Estates on the Sonoma Coast received a 95-point rating from The Wine Spectator and put Ryan on the radar for good. Living literally in the Suicci Vineyard from which he gets Pinot allows Ryan total control over his production from vine to bottle.
