Peter Rosback and David O'Reilly began Sineann in 1998 after working together at Elk Cove Winery. Rosback had decided to volunteer at Elk Cove on his off days to broaden his home-winemaking experience. In creating Sineann, the goal was to produce premium wines of a number of varieties, focusing on Pinot Noir. The result has been intense wines of strength and distinction. O'Reilly has now developed his own label, Owen Roe
, leaving Rosback to continue production at Sineann. The winery sources fruit from appellations in three states: Washington, Oregon and California's Napa Valley.
