Amazing bouquet of dark fruit, black cherry, strawberry, hint of vanilla, following through on palate, well balanced fruit and tannin, amazing with wild boar and cranberry pate. Long finish.

Great wine; enjoyed at Mesa Grill in Las Vegas; truly what a Pinot should be; had 4 other wines and this and the 77 Dow were the big hits.

About This Producer

The 25-acre biodynamically farmed DuMOL Estate Vineyard is located on an undulating east-facing slope of one of Russian River Valley's most famous ridgelines. From this classic site, and in tandem with some of the coastal area's finest growers, DuMOL crafts wines that fully capture the aromatics, flavors, and textures that exemplify their vineyard sites and the varietal characteristics in the purest and most precise form.

Wine Varietal: Pinot Noir

Notorious for its fickle growing patterns, Pinot Noir vines prefer long, cool growing conditions and tend to mutate easily, leaving behind numerous clones and inconsistent flavor profiles. Although it is one of the three major varieties used in Champagne production, Burgundy is the traditional home of Pinot Noir. The 30-mile stretch of hills known as the Cote d'Or is valued as the world's premier production area. Pinot Noir is planted all over the world. In the United States, Sonoma, the Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Willamette Valley produce top-notch wines from this variety. Other notable countries include New Zealand, Australia, and Chile. Typical descriptors for Pinot Noir include strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, and meaty notes.
