Professional Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | Rating: 91(+?)

($90) Good deep ruby. High-toned aromas of mocha, licorice and smoke, with an almost exotic earthy element. Then fleshy and sweet but laid-back, with a chewy, rocky character to its currant and loam flavors. Concentrated, youthful wine, finishing with big, building tannins and lingering sweetness. Has a lot in common with the 2006, but this may have a better balance for aging.

I also thought the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Quarry Vineyard and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Home Vineyard were outstanding. Soft, ripe, round and plush, both are easy to drink.

Jacob Beringer's foresight in recognizing the quality and potential of grape growing in the Napa Valley is part of the living heritage of Beringer Vineyards . Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
