($45; L070274 12102 on foil) Yellow-gold. Pungent orchard fruit and melon aromas are brightened by dusty minerals and an exotic orange peel quality. Fleshy but tightly focused citrus and melon flavors possess impressive ripeness as well as vibrancy. Finishes with excellent sappy persistence and a lingering tangerine character. A really good NV bottling. (Remy Cointeau USA, New York, NY)

With fine 2002 as the basic wine the result is brilliant. Fantastically crispy and coffee-roasted with aromas of the highest cuvée de prestige class. Somewhat shorter than the cuvée de prestige wines, however.

My new favorite champagne!! The nose was virus with flowers. The bubbles tiny and active. The color was deep and yellow. The taste was superb.

surprisingly crisp yet not tart non vintage. I used this as back up bottle to '99 Pierre Peters, and it held up well. definitely a value wine.

Wine Varietal: Champagne Blend

Three major varieties are used in a Champagne Blend: Chardonnay, which provides a smooth, creamy texture and Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which provide depth and backbone. Most Champagne is non-vintage (NV), produced with grapes from several different vintages. Vintage Champagnes are made in exceptional years and must contain 80% grapes from that year. Champagne, France is the only region permitted to put "Champagne" on the label.

Blanc de Blancs: Meaning "white of white," blanc de blancs Champagne is 100% Chardonnay.

Blanc de Noirs: Meaning "white of red," is 100% Pinot Noir or a Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier blend.

Rose Champagne: A small amount of still red wine is added during the blending process, creating a rose hue.
