Long a dream of Bollinger, this is the 1st release of a NV rose (and the first new Bollinger release in 30 years.) Majority Pinot Noir with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. A seductive strawberries and cream with a vibrant note of cherry and raspberry. Fine beading and a clean, fresh mouth that reminisces the cherry with a lovely biscuit and toasty aspect. Rounded texture and long finish. Finishes crisp and refreshing with a white cranberry and Queen Anne cherry lashing. Delightful!

Great wine, first release of the rose from the house. Hints of a tart strawberry and nice medium body.

Very nice and lot of finesse balance with lively character. Berries, pear and honeysuckle finish. It will improve within next 2yrs.

About This Producer

Bollinger is considered one the top Champagne houses. Originally founded in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger and Paul Renaudin, it has been the purveyor to the British Court since 1884, as well as several other European kingdoms. Bollinger has a classic, full-bodied style that reflects its Pinot-dominated cuves. This house is known for its muscular champagnes and R.D. cuves, which are kept for approximately ten years on their yeast lees.

Wine Varietal: Champagne Blend

Three major varieties are used in a Champagne Blend: Chardonnay, which provides a smooth, creamy texture and Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which provide depth and backbone. Most Champagne is non-vintage (NV), produced with grapes from several different vintages. Vintage Champagnes are made in exceptional years and must contain 80% grapes from that year. Champagne, France is the only region permitted to put "Champagne" on the label.

Blanc de Blancs: Meaning "white of white," blanc de blancs Champagne is 100% Chardonnay.

Blanc de Noirs: Meaning "white of red," is 100% Pinot Noir or a Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier blend.

Rose Champagne: A small amount of still red wine is added during the blending process, creating a rose hue.
