Bright red-ruby. Peppery herbs give punch to the aromas of redcurrant, menthol, tobacco leaf and flowers. Boasts good texture and density to its varietally typical flavors of dark berries, menthol, licorice and flowers lifted by a touch of green pepper. Already showing an attractive sweetness but the substantial dusty tannins argue for a couple years of cellaring. Very nicely done, and clearly denser and riper than the 2011 Merlot Neyers Ranch I tasted a year ago.Author: Stephen Tanzer
