Bright, dark red. Reticent aromas of dark raspberry and spices. Juicy, lively and a bit clenched, with raspberry and floral notes along with a strong spicy oak element. Finishes with a note of truffle and dusty wood tannins. I'd give this young wine a couple years in bottle to absorb some of its oak. This village wine was aged in 40% new wood; Mortet cut the percentage to 25% in 2012.Author: Stephen Tanzer
