Professional Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | Rating: 92

Bright ruby-red. Intense red berry and cherry aromas of impressive clarity are complemented by notes of licorice, allspice and floral oils. Sappy, focused and appealing sweet on the palate, offering red berry preserve and rose pastille flavors braced by a note of blood orange. The zesty finish features slow-mounting tannins and outstanding, floral- and spice-driven persistence.

Wine Varietal: Pinot Noir

Notorious for its fickle growing patterns, Pinot Noir vines prefer long, cool growing conditions and tend to mutate easily, leaving behind numerous clones and inconsistent flavor profiles. Although it is one of the three major varieties used in Champagne production, Burgundy is the traditional home of Pinot Noir. The 30-mile stretch of hills known as the Cote d'Or is valued as the world's premier production area. Pinot Noir is planted all over the world. In the United States, Sonoma, the Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Willamette Valley produce top-notch wines from this variety. Other notable countries include New Zealand, Australia, and Chile. Typical descriptors for Pinot Noir include strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, and meaty notes.
