(25% vendange entier; 60% new oak): Bright, dark red. Deep but reticent nose hints at licorice and underbrush. Then surprisingly layered and creamy in the mouth, with cherry and redcurrant fruit complemented by dark Belgian chocolate and licorice. No easy sweetness here but plenty rich. Finishes with suave, fine-grained tannins and some chocolatey oak that will take time to harmonize with the wine.
