Professional Reviews For This Wine

purely domestic wine report | Rating: 92

Shows a dark core of color, with a magenta edge. The nose delivers very dense and dark initial impressions lifted by some red cherry with air. On the palate, there is a pleasant, precise entry with a little red fruit again coming in to loosen up the relatively compact black fruit flavors. Overall, it is sweet and supple with a nice tannin profile

Good full medium ruby. Black fruits, licorice and tar on the nose, perked up by pungent herbs. Ripe, lush and spicy; can't match the flagship wine for seamless texture but this boasts more early chocolatey sweetness. Complex saline tones shade to wild sage on the back end, where the broad, building tannins are a bit more rustic than those of the estate wine.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
