(from much deeper soil than the Clos de la Mousse) Bright red. Very ripe aromas of dark cherry and smoky oak. Bigger and broader than the Clos de la Mousse but also classically dry. Fairly rich, large-scaled Beaune wine with a finish featuring substantial oak tannins and a chocolatey flavor. Perhaps a bit disorganized today as the blend was recently made, but finishes with good sneaky persistence.Author: Stephen Tanzer
