Light and spicy, with pretty red berry and cinnamon flavors that linger against refined tannins. The flavors expand with each sip, picking up extra mineral and earth nuances, as the finish sails on unabated. It's the length that makes this special.

Bright ruby. Perfumed, vibrant aromas of blackberry, dried flowers, minerals and spicy oak. Juicy, precise and energetic, showing a suave blend of power and finesse. Very pure red and dark berry, spice and mineral flavors linger impressively on the sappy, persistent finish. This is approachable now but has the spine and power to age.

Spectatular! Very bright red berries that lasts completely through the long beautiful finish. Overall lighter than most Pinot Noirs but while it is hard to believe and explain but the flavors get bigger as you continue to experience this wine. This is the best pinot noir I have had in the past three years.

About This Producer

The Beaux Freres estate property, an old pig farm, is 24 acres of tightly-spaced, low-yielding vines on the steep slopes of Ribbon Ridge in Northern Willamette Valley. Winemaking philosophy and technique follow a commitment to minimal intervention, with native yeast fermentations and only one racking prior to bottling. All the wines are unfined and unfiltered. The wine remains in French oak for a period of 10-12 months, in varying proportions of new wood depending on the strength of the vintage. Because of the "reductive" winemaking style, which keeps the wine away from oxygen as much as possible, Beaux Freres Pinots are made for bottle age. The end result is a true expression of prime Willamette terrior.

Wine Varietal: Pinot Noir

Notorious for its fickle growing patterns, Pinot Noir vines prefer long, cool growing conditions and tend to mutate easily, leaving behind numerous clones and inconsistent flavor profiles. Although it is one of the three major varieties used in Champagne production, Burgundy is the traditional home of Pinot Noir. The 30-mile stretch of hills known as the Cote d'Or is valued as the world's premier production area. Pinot Noir is planted all over the world. In the United States, Sonoma, the Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Willamette Valley produce top-notch wines from this variety. Other notable countries include New Zealand, Australia, and Chile. Typical descriptors for Pinot Noir include strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, and meaty notes.
