Wine Advocate | Rating: 92

Dark red berries, flowers, anise, graphite and spices are some of the nuances that flow from the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. Despite the initial radiance and sweetness of the fruit, there is plenty of underling structure and sheer power here. This is another fabulous effort from Chris Phelps

A reined-in style that's tight and loamy, with dried herb, currant, plum and cedar and ending with a note of black licorice and firm, dry tannins. Needs aeration.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
