Good full ruby-red. Aromas of black raspberry, cassis, licorice, minerals and chocolatey oak. Rich, plush and sweet, with a pliant, three-dimensional texture to the flavors of black fruits, spices and cocoa powder. Builds impressively and spreads out on the back end, which features serious but suave tannins and a lingering medicinal quality. Quite supple for young Mount Veeder cabernet and long on personality. Gained in sweetness with extended time in the recorked bottle, without losing any of its mineral energy.
