About This Producer

Karl Lawrence Cellars was founded in 1991 by friends Michael Karl Trujillo and Bryan Lawrence Henry with the goal of producing top quality Napa Valley Cabernet.

Fruit is sourced from two renowned vineyards, Morisoli and Lamb Family. The Morisoli Vineyard lies on the valley floor near Rutherford; fruit from this vineyard shows great Cabernet character and yields a well-rounded wine with intense aroma and flavor, and lends a rich smooth feel to the finished wine. The Lamb Family Vineyard is a hillside mountain vineyard on Howell Mountain which produces a more intense and concentrated fruit that gives a big, rich, spicy character to the blended wine. The combination and blending of the Morosoli grapes and the Lamb Family grapes define the unique Karl Lawrence Cabernet style. The grape combination produces a wine that is rich and full-bodied, well balanced, and enhanced fruit and spice characters.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
