(cabernet sauvignon blended with 8% petit verdot, 7% cabernet franc and 5% merlot): Full, deep ruby-red. Pure but subdued aromas of cassis, licorice, dark chocolate and herbs. Broad but a bit unrefined, and less sweet today than the To Kalon bottling. The dark berry flavors come across as a bit chunky and the dusty tannins a tad rough, but the finish is nontheless broad and long. I'd lay this down.Author: Stephen Tanzer
