Moderately saturated bright medium red. Pure if imploded aromas of red fruits and flowers lifted by mint. A bit medicinal and herbal, with a slight dryness that I don't find in the other grand crus today. Has personality but displays little easy sweetness. Finishes with building tannins. A bit inscrutable today, and on the light side for Clos Vougeot. Hervet told me that Faiveley sold off one of its three parcels in bulk because it was a bit rustic.Author: Stephen Tanzer
