Professional Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | Rating: 88

Medium red-ruby, not as bright as the Proprietary Red. Musky dark cherry and graphite aromas are perked up by pepper and herbs. Offers a creamy texture to its sweet berry flavors, but an edge of acidity and a strong oak element currently cut off the wine's fruit. Shows less dimension than the Proprietary Red, which comes across as riper. Finishes with slightly tough tannins.

About This Producer

Alpha Omega is located in the legendary Rutherford AVA, in the heart of Napa Valley. Surrounded by vineyards and mountains, the beauty of this rustic, farm-style winery is as captivating as its wine.
Alpha Omega's winemakers source from historic vineyards to create wines that express the essence of Northern California, from valley floor, hillsides, mountains and coast. Using natural techniques, they handcraft finesse-driven, complex and balanced wines.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
