(a very limited bottling from selected lots of cabernet aged for three to four years in barrel): Good dark red. Musky aromas of dried cherry, licorice and smoke; rich but missing the high notes of Jayson Woodbridge's top 2009 bottlings. Chewy, saline and rich in the mouth but a bit undifferentiated. Finishes with building, dusty, lightly tarry tannins and a lingering note of licorice. A very rich cabernet but I'm not convinced that this vintage began with enough verve to support extended aging in barrel.Author: Stephen Tanzer
