Berry, flowery nose. Wine has changed in last several months. Was backward-now silky, fruity and ready. Good finish. Flavor is delicious and elegant fruit-not a fruit bomb.

About This Producer

Greg Linn strives to make the very best Pinot, Chardonnay, and Syrah possible at Ambullneo Vineyards, where the motto is "whatever it takes." No cluster is safe from being dropped to the ground, both in the vineyard and on the sorting table, and no barrel is safe from being rejected and never making it to the final product.

As Linn's source vineyards have more age, Ambullneo now produces vineyard specific wines as well as cuvees.

Wine Varietal: Pinot Noir

Notorious for its fickle growing patterns, Pinot Noir vines prefer long, cool growing conditions and tend to mutate easily, leaving behind numerous clones and inconsistent flavor profiles. Although it is one of the three major varieties used in Champagne production, Burgundy is the traditional home of Pinot Noir. The 30-mile stretch of hills known as the Cote d'Or is valued as the world's premier production area. Pinot Noir is planted all over the world. In the United States, Sonoma, the Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Willamette Valley produce top-notch wines from this variety. Other notable countries include New Zealand, Australia, and Chile. Typical descriptors for Pinot Noir include strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, and meaty notes.
