Professional Reviews For This Wine

Vinfolio | Rating: 93

Initial aromas of dark chocolate, mint and cherry in the nose with some sweet currant on the front of the palate. The dusty chocolate, black cherry, plum and currant flavors are polished and expansive for such a young wine. Nice acidity on the finish.

About This Producer

In its first few years, Parallel Napa Valley has grown to be one of the most exciting new Napa mountainside wineries in California. The wines are the result of a collaboration of eight close friends and two of the top winemaking professionals in the industry today: Philippe Melka and highly acclaimed Vineyard Manager Jim Barbour.

All successful entrepreneurs in their own right, the Parallel partners love a challenge and relish the chance to participate hands-on. As such, they have been fully involved in every aspect of creating Parallel, from the planting of the first vine to sampling the first sip of each new vintage. It's this energy and synergy that makes Parallel wines so special.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
