(16.2% alcohol) Good full ruby. Black cherry and violet aromas suggest a hugely rich wine. Then fat, sweet and thick, with great depth of texture and chocolatey richness. Today, though, this seems almost too ripe for its own good, and the fruit is in the background. Finishes with huge chocolatey tannins. This was just bottled, and this is not the best time to be tasting this. Turley's Hayne Vineyard zinfandel is always one of my favorites but for now I will defer judgment.Author: Stephen Tanzer
