This old vine Sonoma Valley source, planted in the late 1800's comprises an exotic field blend of Zinfandel, Mataro, Carignane, Alicante and Petite Sirah. Shows a very polished nose of black fruits and cocoa. The palate is smooth pure blackberry and raspberry with vibrant sweet notes on the finish. Kudos to winemaker, Jeff Gaffner for making a Zinfandel that is only 14.5% alcohol. The vineyard barely yields a half ton per vine in a typical vintage, which leads to the intense character of the wine.Drink Dates: 2008-2013
