Professional Reviews For This Wine

The nose reminds me of forest floor; primitive, cool earth, with whiffs of spicy bay leaf and espresso. As inviting as the nose is, when the wine hits your lips you realize that you momentarily left the ordinary world behind. The palate shows incredible concentration with a velvety mouth-feel that is stunningly delicious. Layer upon layer of viscous chocolate, violet, sandalwood, and coffee are heaped on your tongue. I described it to Annie as if the palate is being coated with wave after wave of these wonderfully pleasurable flavors. It is highly allocated and not to be missed.

85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The couple recently moved to the south eastern hills of Napa Valley and the Cab Franc comes from a 'beautiful' one acre block of 35 year old vines. The area is known as Wooden Valley ? where the fire was. SE of Atlas Peak just NE of Napa itself. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Meteor Vineyard nearby.Lovely savoury 'right bank' nose and then really rich on the palate in a top, electric, modern St-?milion way. Fresh finish.

"Cerro Sur" is deeply colored with moderately thick legs displaying light pigmentation. "Smooth", "warm" aromas of chocolate and dusky plum with sweet cherry and vanilla nuances. Full and rich in the mouth with an accessible structure. Lots of lush and sweet fruit laced with sweet chocolate flavor. Velvety, integrated, and apparently light tannin. Adequate acidity.
