Professional Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | Rating: 89

Saturated ruby color. Brooding aromas of cassis and bitter chocolate. Concentrated, even a bit gritty, with heavily extracted flavors of cassis, dark chocolate and black pepper. A rather powerful if inelegant style. Finishes with slightly raw, building tannins and very good breadth.

About This Producer

The Stags Leap District is one of the smallest, yet most renowned, wine growing regions in Napa Valley. Here, Silverado Vineyards has been quietly producing world-class wines from their state-of-the-art winery for over 20 years.

With grapes sourced almost entirely from Silverado's family-owned estate vineyards, these hand-crafted wines are created in small lots with extreme care. They express richness, elegance and age-worthiness. Silverado wines are unique - one-of-a-kind blends of location, philosophy and winemaking style.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
