($62) Deep, smoky nose combines currant, graphite, tobacco and leather, plus greener notes of currant leaf and green olive. Quite backward and firmly structured, with flavors of currant, tobacco leaf, mineral, coffee and herbs. Finishes with a light dusting of tannins. The only one of these Pride 2002s that struck me as a bit green and dry in the sense of traditional Bordeaux. But this is also quite closed and minerally. I'd give it five or six years of additional cellaring.Author: Stephen Tanzer
