Professional Reviews For This Wine

Vinfolio | Rating: 94

The new 2002 release, which is due out next week, is a stunning example of this steeply terraced mountain fruit. Dark purple/black in color, lush, polished and concentrated, it displays gobs of blackberry, currant and mocha in the nose with seductive hints of powdered licorice. On the palate, wild anise and rich black plum/fig with touches of herb introduce the flavors of smooth creamy blackberry and smoky rich black stone fruit.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
