The medium-bodied 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay Vineyard reveals a saturated ruby/purple color along with sweet scents of black raspberries, currants, licorice, and spice. Rugged tannin in the austere finish gives the wine a shortness as well as angularity. It is questionable whether this wine will evolve with further bottle aging, but it will undoubtedly keep for 10-12 years. How much pleasure it will provide is debatable.

Elegant and stylish, with a band of mocha, espresso, currant and sage flavors that are supple and harmonious, with fine balance and good length. Lots of cedar and spice emerge on the finish, where the tannins are tightly wound. 3,999 cases made.
