Always one of the darker Brunellos, this one is a saturated dark red color with inky highlights but is nonetheless not atypically black or purple. Deep and spicy on the nose, displaying racy aromas of sour red cherry, blackberry and mint; at once concentrated and refined. Big and broad, with highly concentrated flavors of raspberry, licorice and game showing impressive depth and purity. The raspberry element veers toward liqueur-like at the end, but with no loss of cut or clarity. Youthfully aggressive tannins make this a candidate for at least a few years of cellar time.Author: Ian D'Agata
