Site Blog: The Wine Forum Classic Napa, this was the last vintage from this winery that I have liked, and deeply so as the 1999 estate wines were my first a-ha/epiphany wine. Color: Deep red core with claret red edges Nose: A deep and full nose of cassis, cherry, sweet and fragrant plum, a touch of cedar and minerality Palate: True to the nose of cassis, plum and cherry, this wine was full bodied, yet light on the palate; silky hallmark Stag's Leap tannins and plush Fay fruit, good acidity. I can only hope these wines get back to this style. Long and fresh finish. My 3rd favorite wine of the night, as it was with others too, the cab was in 30 minutes into the event half way through the magnum 1.5Ls. Magnum size was drinking REALLY well and in a good window of enjoyment!
