Professional Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | Rating: 94

($95; a blend of 50% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 15% grenache) Very dark ruby, almost black. Utterly seductive aromas of blackberry, mint, eucalyptus and incense. Offers a wonderful creamy richness of cassis-like flavor on the palate, with layers of dark berry fruit expressed with clarity and verve. Silky tannins frame the sweet, lingering finish. This property continues to be a pacesetter in the Scansano area for its elegantly fashioned wines. (Domaine Select Estates, New York, NY)

Ripe and exotic aromas of crushed raspberries, pepper and spices. Full-bodied, with round, velvety tannins and a spicy, rich finish. A beauty. Give this time. 1,500 cases made.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
