Racy and together with a little more freshness than the 1999. But drier on the finish.

Ruby in color. Nose was mineral and red fruit. Taste was strawberry and rasberry. I thought it was suprisingly fruit forward the age. Medium bodied. Leathery texture coated your tounge. Long finish lasting for a good 30 seconds. It went good with the hamberger I made!

Wine Varietal: Pinot Noir

Notorious for its fickle growing patterns, Pinot Noir vines prefer long, cool growing conditions and tend to mutate easily, leaving behind numerous clones and inconsistent flavor profiles. Although it is one of the three major varieties used in Champagne production, Burgundy is the traditional home of Pinot Noir. The 30-mile stretch of hills known as the Cote d'Or is valued as the world's premier production area. Pinot Noir is planted all over the world. In the United States, Sonoma, the Russian River Valley, Carneros and the Willamette Valley produce top-notch wines from this variety. Other notable countries include New Zealand, Australia, and Chile. Typical descriptors for Pinot Noir include strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mushroom, and meaty notes.
