($73) Deep red. Spicy aromas of red cherry and marzipan; slight suggestion of cough syrup. More reticent in the middle palate than the Parussi, but this is deeper and more intensely flavored, hinting at red fruits, flowers, smoke and game. Juicy acidity keeps the flavors wound tight. Finishes firmly tannic and long. Not quite as perfumed as it seemed to be from barrel two years ago, but this extremely young wine holds out substantial promise.Author: Stephen Tanzer
