Cassis and mint on the nose. Penetrating currant and shoe polish flavors are still quite tightly wrapped; minerally hint of lead pencil. A ripe, dense wine but still a bit hard. Finishes with firm tannins and good but not outstanding length. This is quite densely packed; the Coach Insignia, though lighter, will offer easier early drinkability.Author: Stephen Tanzer
