Professional Reviews For This Wine

Wine Spectator | Rating: 92

Effusively fruity, with pretty floral aromas and a dense, concentrated core of currant, black cherry and wild berry flavors. Finishes with a solid dose of tannins and a rich aftertaste. Best to cellar this potent wine. Best after 2000. 170 cases made.

About This Producer

Tom and Laurie Clark staked their dream to a small parcel on the east side of Howell Mountain and produced their first vintage in 1993. The winemaking style is elegant in its subtlety, and reflects the parcel's unique microclimate. Douglas Danielak is winemaker.

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the world's best known red variety, with its full-bodied, intense profile. An offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, it is the primary grape of Bordeaux's Left Bank (Medoc and Graves regions) and the Napa Valley, but can be found growing all over the world. Typical descriptors for Cabernet Sauvignon are cassis, cedar, mint, black pepper, eucalyptus, and pencil lead.
